The Louisiana State University Orthodontic Alumni Foundation is a non-profit corporation organized under the laws of the state of Louisiana.  Its objectives are to advance the art and science of orthodontics and to promote the common business and professional interests of those in the orthodontic profession.  The Foundation will also represent the orthodontic alumni and cooperate with the Department of Orthodontics in the Louisiana State University Medical Center.  Membership in the Foundation is open to all graduates of the postgraduate program of orthodontics of LSU School of Dentistry.  Classes of membership include active members (who are legally engaged in the active practice of orthodontics exclusively), retired members (who have retired from the private practice of orthodontics), honorary members (persons who have made valuable contributions to the science, art, or literature of orthodontics and who have rendered conspicuous service to orthodontics), and faculty associate members (persons actively engaged in a faculty doctoral status in the postgraduate department of orthodontics at LSU).
